Would you be afraid if this lizard crossed your path? These lizards are known for their dramatic neck frills, which make them look like butterfly wings were attached to either side of their necks. These are native to Australia and have the ability to run on their hind legs. They love to bask in the sun and hunt for insects.
Frill-necked lizards can be relatively friendly and docile. They typically tolerate moderate handling and may even perch on a person's shoulder to observe their surroundings.

@RasmaSandra There is a clip by the National Geographic and the lizard seems to attack the camera before chasing the cameraman. The link is very long to put here so probably best to just search for it if you'd like to watch it.

He reminds me of the Jurassic Park lizard that spits venom!
No, I wouldn't worry about meeting him. I already know lizards are usually shy and stay away from most people.

@RasmaSandra We have palm sized lizards here but they run as soon as they see a person. The little ones will come out and watch you if you sit quietly enough. If I'm reading outside, sometimes one crawls up on the porch railing beside me as long as I don't move.

Looks like the lizard is wearing a cape, lol. Australia is home to some incredible wildlife both on land and sea!
