Shopping by myself today ……. Mom’s in too much pain !

So my Mom is still suffering so much with shingles , the rash has spread and the pain is still bad. She woke me this morning to say she didn’t feel like she could go shopping …..I didn’t think for a moment that she would be able to.
Anyway, I popped into town on the bus and got a few bits and pieces.
It was strange doing the shopping on my own and the lady at the deli counter asked about her ( the lady that was being tested for sleep apnea. That a mentioned previously ).
I bought her a couple of magazines and a cake so that at least cheered her up when I got back.
Several of my lovely MyLotter family have asked about Mom and I have passed on all your best wishes….

That’s so lovely that the girl at the deli counter asked about her too.
Now, don’t you forget to get a shingles vaccine eventually, now that you know about it. Obviously, you don’t have the time for it now, but we want to keep that from happening to you too. I hate thinking of your mom suffering from it.

I will enquire about it at the Drs. I do have the flu vaccine so I’m sure there won’t be a problem with the shingles one. I wonder if you have to be a certain age ! I will find out.
I hate seeing her suffer so hope it won’t be for much longer ….she is taking the tablets , they are about an inch long !

@Traceyjayne You do have to be a certain age, but 60 is well past it. At least here in the United States.

sorry for you mum's condition and very nice of you for buying her something, to cheer her up i saw a dentist yesterday and she said my swollen gums are getting better. seeing her again the next week, i hope.

. thank you though, i postponed a dentist meeting for some other time, i couldn't go tomorrow and next meeting is on the next week, not sooner so, i'm hoping my gums will listen until the next week

Have you or your mom had a shingles vaccine? I've had a couple I think. I don't want to EVER get shingles again. I hope your mom is feeling better and that the medication is helping. As I mentioned before, there were no meds when I had my shingles. It was really rough. I'm glad you brought her some things to brighten her day.
My day is going OK.

We haven’t had the vaccine….didnt even know that there was one til she got it.
We will look into it though ….i would have thought Mom should have been offered it at her age !
