New York Police Department officer rescues an accident victim last month

New York Police Department (NYPD) officer Joseph Wetzel who was off duty in Hauppauge New York recently when he took action to pull a driver out of his vehicle that was involved in an auto accident that was overturned on Wednesday February 4 when an SUV auto collided with a sedan. Officer Wetzel told a Hauppauge police officer that he was a police officer and he wanted to rescue a motorist who was trapped inside of one of the autos. Officer Wetzel broke a window so that he was able to get a motorist out of the auto safely. Three persons were transported from the scene of the accident. Officer Wetzel is currently battling cancer.
