Save The Children

I believe l published a similar poem some years ago which l was moved to write because of world events at the time. We are all members of the human race; Who sets the pace, who decides what trials we face? Some are born with a silver spoon in the mouth; Some have very little to shout about. In some countries people live peaceful lives; In others conflict and mayhem are on the rise. Thousands flee their homes every day; Nowhere to go, nowhere to stay. Tired and drawn, unhappy and worn; Dragging battered suitcases with handles broken or torn. I think of the children deprived of a home; The many children who are forced to roam. How l wish the world could become a better place; Embracing every member of the human race. What is your wish? Pixabay image.

That is a very well thought out piece of poetry. I think that it will take Armageddon before we realise the damage we are doing But even then human nature will prevail and the same will happen again and again My wish? Probably the same as your wish.

@Ineeddentures l hope that wasn't recently because now Bruce Willis does not look like the Bruce we know from his early action movies. He is a very good actor by the way.

You wrote a wonderful poem, so appropriate for our difficult times. I am very concerned about the actual situation, is the end of the world getting close?

@Kandae11 - What is really changing, is the increase in natural disasters and climate change.

According to the Scriptures - no one knows the exact time, but signs were mentioned like : wars and rumors of wars ( which has been happening for centuries anyway). Also an increase in natural disasters- climate change will ensure that. Also the heart of man will become desperately wicked - there was wickedness centuries ago too...

I know l am wishing for things which hardly seem likely when one considers the history of the world. But as they say : Better to live in hope rather than die in despair".

I think you've put it very well. The world is such a mess at the moment.
