Happy Friday everyone..Hope you have something fun on tap to do today. I am going to a fish supper tonight. It is something that the Catholic church has ever year. It helps them fund raise for their various projects. It is fun, because lots of people turn out for it, and it has your preference of fish and a couple of sides with home made desserts. I think a lot of people feel supportive of this church because maybe 10 years ago..they had a priest who abscounded with thousands of dollars from the church budget. He was embezzling funds and it took awhile to catch on to him. Anyway, I haven't really followed the story, but I think it is safe to say, he is no longer in the priesthood. He was criminally prosecuted.

@snowy22315 he isn’t allowed to tell us where he is. He was in California but was deployed. He’s on a ship for a few weeks is all I know for sure.

@shaggin Uh Oh...the Abraham Lincoln was out of San Diego. He must be on some kind of spy ship. My nephew works for a military contractor. He isn't allowed to tell anyone specifically what he does..but I assume he is in some kind of weapons technology. He's a computer scientist, with a top secret security clearance.

I love Friday fish frys at the church, a great time, and usually wonderfully prepared food.
When we lived in the little rural village, which was a French village, although they spoke English also, the (French) church hosted a pasta night. Talk about combining your cultures, the Frenchmen preparing an Italian dish, which was rather delicious.
It too, was a fundraiser.

@snowy22315 Living there was THE best, and the mix of our cultures was pretty great also.
And to add to the mix, we used to have a fair number of migrant workers, who were from the islands such as Jamaica, come to masses.

Happy Friday to you, too. You know it’s my favorite day and tonight we have reservations to go to a little Italian restaurant downtown. To get the reservations, we had to tell whoever answered the phone, that the curtain lady told us to call. That’s another story. However, they recognized our name when it popped up on the phone and they knew us.
Your dinner sounds like fun, delicious, and going to a good cause.
So many bad priest stories. It’s a terrible shame.

Yes, indeed. There are some really rotten eggs out there. Your restaurant sounds funny and mysterious..kind of like a speakeasy.

@snowy22315 At least this restaurant doesn’t serve rotten eggs
No, it’s just an authentic, tiny, elegant, Italian restaurant run by Italians who go back and forth to Italy. All family run, including the waiters.
