Can you believe we’ve had this genius around for four and a half decades? Could I leave him off a countdown? Of course not! While this wasn’t a “hit,” they did make a video for it, though. Let’s laugh!
Dog Eat Dog - “Weird Al” Yankovic
You can probably tell why I love this song so much: Weird Al went to town on Talking Heads with this song. While it’s not a direct parody of one Talking Heads song, he’s definitely impersonating David Byrne’s singing. The opening sounds a little like “And She Was” from 1985’s Little Creatures (and the “dog eat dog” cold ending is a replica of the “and she was” ending of that song). He paraphrases “Once in a Lifetime” (“sometimes I tell myself this is not my beautiful stapler, sometimes I tell myself this is not my beautiful chair!”).
The biggest parodies from this album were “Living With a Hernia” and “Addicted to Spuds” (“Living in America” by James Brown and “Addicted to Love” by Robert Palmer, respectively), but I just had to include this hilarious original.

I love to watch my boss get angry so I can count the veins in his neck:

Aw, I’m sorry. He’s actually impersonating David Byrne, so maybe it’s Byrne who creeps you out.

@FourWalls I doubt it. He has always creeped me out for some reason.

@DianneN — well, he is an accordion player, and that’s one of the four instruments of the apocalypse.

I actually know who he is but don't care for his "singing".

At least you know who he is. That’s a major accomplishment.

I remember one of my friends singing that song but getting the words wrong. She sang Doggy Dog World and we teased her a lot.

One interesting fact of Weird Al Yankovic is he played the cartoon voice of Wordgirl villain called The Learner.

@FourWalls You are welcome since he made a great villain while being close to his nickname.

I hadn't heard this one before; but I'm familiar with Weird Al.
I hope your back is better.

It likes the zero gravity setting. I’ll have to get my workbook out with the PT exercises in it and do some.

He’s probably the best-known parody artist around. Definitely the best since Homer and Jethro.
