Springing Forward So He Can Hunt Bugs

On Sunday March 8th we spring forward again. At 2a. we will lose an hour, and it will go on that way until November 1st. Interesting that Benjamin Franklin proposed the idea in a 1784 essay he wrote. The modern concept is, however, credited to a modern entomologist who wanted more sunshine to hunt bugs. That was in 1895, but the program didn't start until 1966. Do you like Daylight Saving Time? I for one do not.

I have mixed feelings about daylight savings time since I will lose one hour of sleep. The good side is that there will be another hour of daylight until November.

You only lose sleep the first night though, if it's the same as here.

I know what you mean Eva. It stays light far too late and our solar lights don't come on until after 11 pm

I put my clocks ahead an hour at 8 pm, then retired to read in bed. Had no trouble falling asleep at the new 11pm. Got up just fine this morning. This is now the correct time for me.

I think that many make more out of the change than really exist.

I wish that they would do away with it. Our western province of BC is springing forward for the last time change, it is time that my province followed suit, maybe one day they will.

I think it's a waste of time. For one hour? Come on.

And I thought the idea came because they wanted to conserve energy. We had DST very long time ago, probably when iw as an elementary student back in the 80s. It didn't work so our government didn't try it ever again.

More recently that is the reason. I think it's a waste of time.

I LOVE IT! I love the extra hour of daylight in the evening. I wish they would keep it that way.
