Who used to do this?

I did when I didn't want to receive any phone calls.
There was this guy I went on a blind date once and I really didn't like him at all. He called me the following day and it was my sister who answered the phone. I told my sister to tell him I wasn't home.
He didn't get the sign and still kept on calling so I just did exactly what you can see in the photo.

That's funny! I've done that in the past as well, but the only problem was that when you did that, NO ONE else could call the house. My parents would get so mad whenever I took the receiver off the cradle.

That was the one and only time I went on a blind date.

My soc meds are in private so people who aren't my friends couldn't see them. My business pages are in public. Only those. I don't easily accept people in my social media circle. Only those I personally know. And I hardly post private things anyway.
It's easy to block people in the social media. Too easy.

I remember the old rotary dial phones and party lines.

oh yes the party lines. Back when I was in high school we had. party line and when there's an emergency, we had to beg the person on the other line to please hang up the phone so we could make our phone call. "hello, party line..." was a famous line back then.1 person likes this

@toniganzon I remember the operator coming on line and asking us to hang up.

@LindaOHio Oh there's an operator who intervenes. In our case, no operator. Just the person who shares the same line.

Blind dates are not always a good idea.
See if you saw the picture of the woman I actually considered meeting on a sort of blind date you would think I had gone nuts
Wow one very not so pretty lady
Now I am not perfect, but I do only have one chin and my skin is really nice and my face is not round with messy hair, I am bald lol

@Ineeddentures As long as he could give me an intellectual conversation and make me smile and laugh. I don't mind.
I dated a fat guy once. We had a blast. But he had to move to another country. Long distance didn't work. I was hurt when he left. It hurt for a very long time actually.

I don't really care much about the physical appearance. That wasn't the reason why I didn't like him. It's the attitude. He's just not the person I'd enjoy spending my time with.

So if he had been a fat mess would you have even gone through the motions of even spending any time with him at all.
