Hey everyone, how are you all doing?
I know I skipped the grade check last week. Just was busy and there wasn't much of a change to his grades.
Eli did bring his english up to a C, but then it went back down to a D because he didn't do the February book report. Trying to get him to bring home the paperwork so he can do one this month - and see if he can make up February's still.
Parent teacher conferences are this week, so last couple days to bring up his grade before that. At least it means after this week he is halfway through the semester.
Anyways - grades:
ELA - 65%
Math - 90%
P.E. - 100%
Science - 73%
Home Ec - 96%
Social Studies - 91%
Advisory - 83%
So besides ELA, he does need to watch his science grade. It was down to a 71% but he brought it back up to a 73%.
This is his last week in Home Ec too - next week he'll be in an art class. Wonder what all they will do in that class. (Maybe paint, draw, etc...)
His grades are not too bad at all, but in his two lowest grades it is from not getting things turned in. When he does, he usually gets an A on the assignment.
Photo is mine - Another older one of Eli...a couple summers ago.

He likes art when he is the mood for it lol. But he gets bored quickly with it.
So we'll see how it goes.

@Ineeddentures Sorry to hear that. I remember I took at least one art class all 4 years of high school.
But I also was in choir since I was in middle school lol. I loved singing

At school, or at home? He can't do the book report without the paper, but he always "forgets" to bring it home. Hopefully we can just bring them all home at Parent teacher conferences.

@MommyOfEli2013 Tell him if he “forgets” again he can’t play his games. If you actually follow through he will quit “forgetting”.
But yes, getting them from the parent teacher conference is a good idea.

@AmbiePam He probably would just say he can play at lunch, and all that. Sometimes the fight is not worth it....but I know he needs to be disciplined too.

I’ve never heard of advisory what does he learn in that class?
His grades are great except ELA.

Advisory is like home room? Just where they go to catch up on work...if they are all caught up they can have free time.
But yes that is true, and that's how it's been all year.

Does he have a tutor? Does the school have after school help?

@MommyOfEli2013 .......I see. If he is on the autism spectrum I would think he is doing very well. I wonder if the fact that he doesn't do well in English and language has a lot to do with that diagnosis.

@celticeagle Yes he is doing good, he is smart and all of that, it's just that he doesn't get things turned in. Now he's starting to do that in more classes too recently.

No. They do have high schoolers who come on certain days after school. With his anxiety/autism it wouldn't help him.

@MommyOfEli2013 Just wondered, since you mentioned that he has autism and anxiety on here.

He has proven that he's very capable and smart. It's too bad he doesn't like turning in his assignments.

Sounds like Eli’s doing pretty well overall. Those are some strong grades, especially in Math and Social Studies. Hopefully he can get that book report in and bump the ELA grade up before conferences. And art class next sounds fun—bet he’ll enjoy that

Looks like quite an improvement. I am sure with artistically creative parents he will do just fine,

Just was hoping his ELA grade would be much better by now. But at least he is not failing any more, since D is still passing.
