Trauma hurts. Even some of the folks who had great childhoods still have some traumatic experiences at some point in their lives. I had a wonderful childhood but went on to have a lot of traumatic situations that caused PTSD and anxiety for years.
It can take some years and years to get over trauma. Good friends who mean right can't always know how to act or what to say to those who suffer. There are times that a certain look or something that is said can be a trigger and takes us back to a horrible situation.
I think this is one reason 'God' was created. People needed something to give all their hurt and pain to and poof God was the outcome. "Give it to God". I've heard that a billion times. I believe there is a higher power but not God. Sorry folks.
Trauma is a hard part of life. I am so thankful for the family, friends and acquaintances that I have. They help me so much.

It truly is. There was a time that each time my phone rings I would shake in fear. Hearing my brother's voice shouting at me had such a traumatic effect that for years I suffered from anxiety each time my phone rang.

God can be different things to different people. Maybe a 'Higher Being' would be more inclusive of all the gods out there.
