As per the news here in the Philippines, our fuel will only last for 50 days, which means, its doesn't only affect cars, but even our electric. If you were face with a situation like this, what would you or buy to make sure you have enough light and electric, aside from solar panels?

Have plenty of flashlights and batteries and/or candles.

I would make sure all the flashlights work. My uncle had a lot of candles so I am good with those.

Maybe we should all stock up with candles.
It's all quite worrying really.

I have no idea what I would do.
In the 60,s this would not have been a problem
We used solid fuel like wood to heat out hones and cook and get hit water.
We had big generators which used wood
So we had electic, and we had big battery banks even way back 60: years ago
Our vehicles ran on what the call red diesel and that never went scarce, and it could do generators too
So I'm guessing if it happened to us here now that I could adapt and actually we do have a back up if we lost power.
I will fill up both my bikes tomorrow and some cans of petrol as well.
We have one solar panel filling the battery bank but I can put up another two.
What ever happens we should be ok but hopefully we won't get power shortages in the UK in 2026.
