Are you a listener?

Guess we all are! The real question though is, are you a good listener? There are people who love to talk and talk and though they hear the other person they don't actually listen. They want to be heard but they don't want to listen! Not too many will admit that they aren't good listener though. They'd insist they do listen. Sometimes I am a good listener, sometimes I'm not. But when someone is very talkative, I tend to be the really quiet one (not that I have a choice).

I would like to think that I am a good listener …and that I am there for my family and friends when they need me….

I wish someone would listen to me without judging me.

I am a good listener. I don't just hear the other person, I do actually listen I would never admit that I am not a good listener. Because as I already stated, #listeningisme

I listen but I also want to help Pretty fix her problems. It took a long time for me to realize that she just wanted to talk about her problems and didn't need my help fixing things.

Yes, I understand. Being a parent we do want to help our children fix their problems. But sometimes, all they want is someone to listen to them. By talking, it helps them realize how to solve the problems on their own.

Yes, unless my brother discusses his view about politics.

I do understand. When my uncle does the same I just pretend to listen. I couldn't argue as it would be considered disrespectful, nor could I run away.

Cousin #2 can talk for 1/2 hour without stopping. Sometimes I tend to tune her out.

Just like my uncle. And he would get mad if I tell him that I need a break.

I’d like to think I’m a good listener. I’ve spent years in roles where listening to people was a big part of the job. But like anyone, I still have my moments. I think most of us are a mix. Sometimes we listen well, sometimes not.

Of course. No matter how good a listener we are, we will always feel the need to be heard as well. The time when we would want to talk too and needing someone to listen to us. Listening all the time can be tiresome.

I am a good listener; I always have been. As a naturally quiet person, one tends to fall into a habit of listening. And, I actually pay attention when I do.

Paying attention is what actually listening means. Otherwise you'd only be hearing. You're doing what's wright.

I hear what you're saying. Sometimes, if you are trying to talk, others butt in before you've finished. Maybe it's because I'm taking too long!
