It is funny what he remembers

My ex have spent more time together than usual over the past 2 weeks. Believe me I'm not mad about that. 
Normally when he is over we stick to just talking about the present--our jobs, our families, etc. I have to say that I've been surprised by the things he's casually mentioned. It is usually stuff that I've forgotten about.
One example happened today. Somehow I must have been telling him about the freezer meal challenge. He said "that's easy--it's St. Patrick's Day. Reuben mac and cheese!" I had forgotten that I made that for him and my BIL one year when they were hanging out in the Man Cave. They went wild for it. 
There have been several other times it happened but off the top of my head I can't remember them. It is funny that he remembers them though. That makes me smile.
