Who doesn't get disappointed when promises aren't kept? Who doesn't get hurt? That's why I don't like it when people promise me something coz I tend to always believe them. Only to end up getting disappointed or hurt. So I always tell them don't promise me anything. Just do it.

Actions speak louder than words Toni I grew up getting disappointed at every turn so I used to expect to be let down

@Ineeddentures Right, last night my sister asked me if I wanted to watch a concert of a famous local band and I said yes. But it will on the 15th of May. She already has the VIP tickets but she didn't hand it to me. So I'm not expecting anything until then. Coz things could change. Many things could happen till May 15th.

I try not to make promises because circumstances can always change and I don’t want to break a promise, even unintentionally.

Same here. And when I promise, it's something I know for certain I can keep.

I think we tend to learn who we can trust and who we can't. I have learned it gets easier to tell as you get older.

So true. I only make promises that I know I can keep.

I know what you mean since if a person does not do what is best for you, the person who does not deliver their promises will lose.

Better not make promises you can't keep. That's always my rule.

I myself don't like making promises because I experience first hand being disappointed. That's why I usually said I won't promise anything and it becomes a habit.

As it should be. We should act on it. I don't make promises unless I can absolutely fulfill it.
