Oh joy. I found a restaurant today where everything was to my taste and exceeded my expectations. Even using the bathroom was a treat and I’m not even a woman. The place is in the city of Chester and even though it is pricey I’d have paid double what I was charged because everything was so good. The food was a succession of small plates and we ordered 8, all of Middle Eastern cuisine - hummus, baba ganoush, grilled halloumi in honey and walnuts, disco cauliflower, lamb kofta etc. it’s been a long time since I’ve eaten so well and with such confidence. The wine was Lebanese. The quality here was exceptional. They also have a branch in Manchester and I’ve been tempted to eat there on several occasions but for the unpleasant fact that it is to be found in Brazennose Street. I could never feel comfortable sitting in an establishment in a street baring such an odd name.
