This is largest diamond in the United States. It was found in 1924 at the Prairie Creek volcanic pipe in Arkansas which is now the Crater of Diamonds State Park. The rough diamond weighed 40.23 carats. It was later cut into a 12.42 carat emerald cut gem. Arkansas is unique in North America as one of the few places where diamonds are found on the surface. The park allows visitors to search for diamonds and keep any they find.
