She said, " they shouldn't be here"
This has been bugging me all day.
We had a flat advertised for rent and Yvonne and I were showing a lady it today with a hope of getting it let for the end of the month
The lady had come quite far to see it as she was relocating here for a "better life"
She was pleased with the inside of the property, immaculate and all fresh and new, only £400 per month which was half what she was paying down south.
We were showing her the garden and it was all going well
Until she saw the lady on the other side of the fence hanging out her washing on the line
She said " they shouldn't be here"
I said " excuse me "
She said "those dark***, no right being here , it's our country"
Yvonne looked at her and said " you won't be our tenant ,we don't house racists"
I'm glad now she uttered those words in the garden when she did, she could have been trouble
My parting shot to her was this
" This is our country , all races colours and creeds are welcome here"

I have to be very careful when letting a property.
The lady from Ghana is well respected in the community and I wouldn't be upsetting her apple cart by letting a flat out to a racist.
Yvonne said I should stick to people from the town who we know or people who are black or brown. They always make good tenants and work hard.

@Ineeddentures Some of your coloured people are second or third generation 'British' surely. We have people here with strong British accents that have only been here a relatively few years and they're complaining about too many immigrants.

I'd seen the likes of this woman on the TV waving the Union Jack and shouting racist remarks at asylum seekers and I decided I wasn't having that
When will these " it's our country" people realise that " our country" belongs to all born here, all who work here, all who live here, black or white
Sure the woman will be berating me as racist against the English now

That's so rude, thank God you set her straight & let her know
where she needs to go, that's why I never went into selling property
& dealing with people like that cause I can't stand stupid people.
