LAUNDRY's here: Bar soap or Detergent

Well the weekend is here and most of the things I do on weekends include laundry and general shopping. Laundry depends on the shopping since I will have to need to buy either soap or detergent. For the past few weeks I have opted for detergents since they make my laundry which is actually hand washing, easier. I just soak the clothes for up to one hour then do the washing without much effort. Bar soap is not bird but the thought of having to rub the soap around the clothes gives me a discouragement. What does best for your laundry? Bar soap or detergent?

That must be an easier way to do laundry. Are there bar soaps over there?

@SIDIKIMPOLE - I like those more, they do not clog the washing machine.

I rarely find liquid detergents here in our rural area. I used to find them during my stay in town.

As I have a washing machine I use detergent. I think I would for hand washing too.

I am lucky enough to have a washing machine but if I had to wash by hand, I'd do what you do.

We mainly use liquid detergent. That's for the washing machine. For the few that I hand wash-bar soap. But we also keep a detergent powder because sometimes we still use one.
