Happy Friday Everyone! the sun is shining and we made it....it's officially SPRING!! I know we can still have some winter weather but whatever....it won't spoil my mood today. I woke up to the sound of the trash being collected and boy those trucks are noisy. It was also bulk pickup so we could put out 2 or 3 items so we put out a chair that didn't make it through the winter (from the deck). Someone picked it up before the bulk truck came around so I hope they had plans to refurbish it and if not, well then they have to dispose of it My son in law works for a Kia dealership so he took our car today for an oil change and regular maintenance. It's nice to have door-to-door service. Plus he gets to travel to work (about an hour away) using our gas I'm a reality show junkie but my favorite all time is Survivor. I just found out that one of the former contestants wrote a book (fiction) loosely based on the whole concept of Survivor. I downloaded the book and just started it. I'm really hoping it's good and maybe gives away some of the behind the scene things that we don't see when Survivor airs. I'm really behind in my reading this year and have only read about 5 books since January. Nothing much planned for today and surprise, surprise we're having chicken for dinner

I checked with our trash service and they collect large items but we have to go to their office, get a paper from them and fill it out and stick it to the large item at least a week before we put it out for them to collect it. We need to do that for Pretty's box springs. They only collect large items every third Friday of the month. Since this is the third Friday, we'll need to put her box springs in the garage and set up collection of it next month. We're in a heatwave here. I hope you'll enjoy temps in the 90s for a few days there.

We have bulk pick-up quarterly and we can put out 2 or 3 items that are not bigger than a couch, mattress and/or box springs so that gives us pretty good leeway to get rid of stuff. Otherwise we can go to town hall and get a sticker for a bulk item to put out on regular collection day. and I think it costs $20. Hope you can get rid of Prettys box springs without too much hassle. No heatwave here yet. We'll top off today maybe at 60

I don't use a trash service anymore, but when I did you had to arrange for a special pick up for large items.

We get bulk pickup quarterly. We hsve no option other than trash pickup from the town. How do you dispose of your garbage?

Chicken sounds awfully tasty! I know you were so sick of winter so I’m happy for you that spring is here. I do feel a little sorry for myself though. Tomorrow it will be 96 degrees. Marilyn, I’m just not equipped for that!

Hooray for spring! The city started a new thing with large item pickup a couple of years ago. There’s no longer a scheduled day for it (it used to be once every three months, then once every four months). Instead, you have to call and make an appointment for the large items to be picked up. I think that’s very wasteful…if my neighbor calls for an appointment next week, and after his stuff is picked up I think, “Wow, I should set some stuff out, too,” then they’ve made two trips to the same street in two weeks, instead of one on a scheduled day. But I should know better than to expect logic from the government. Anyway, it’s supposed to get into the mid-70s here today, and the 80s tomorrow!!
