Happy spring!!! We survived!! And now for record heat in southwest. But the music is going strong, no matter the weather. While today’s artist is primarily known as country, I do NOT have to give the “Linda? NO!” warning for this song…’cause this song ain’t country!! You Can’t Resist It - Lyle Lovett Here you have this pretty straightforward country album going, and in the middle of side two, it suddenly sounds like some college rock band broke into the studio and took over. Yes, this is ferociously out of place on Lyle Lovett’s debut album. That doesn’t mean it’s a bad song. Quite the contrary! I actually had this song on a rock mixtape for my car back in the 80s. That’s the cool thing about Lovett (who’s a really sweet man: I’ve had the chance to meet him a couple of times): he does a wide variety of music, from almost jazz (remember his hit “She’s No Lady”?) to as country as country can get…and it all sounds perfect coming from him. You Can’t Resist It Written by Lyle Lovett Recorded by Lyle Lovett From Lyle Lovett, 1986 She was smart enough to know what to do:

That is quite an enjoyable song. The up and down tempo in between was unique. And does not sounds heavy as well.

@FourWalls Got it. I like some of their songs. Some are way too loud.

Both, like “Pat,” which is short for both Patrick and Patricia.
