Just staying at home

Holy Week, a holiday for a couple of days, is approaching. Because of the recent and likely ongoing increase in gas prices, I’ve decided to stay put in my apartment. I’ll head to the beach with my two dogs, and enjoy some delicious snacks and drinks. After the beach, I plan to visit the church, then I’ll relax by watching movies or TV series. Do you have any plans?

No, I don't have any plan for the weekend. After coming back home from the jungle, I'll spend most of my time with my family. Then I'll hang out with my friends for a few hours.

@freelancermariagrace Thank you. It is five kms away from my house. Near the outskirts of our town. I walk to the jungle.Five kms up and then as many kms down back home.

Spending time with our families is more important than anything else. How far is the jungle from your home?

That’s great! I hope you can bike and enjoy the outdoors. It’s just a small sedan. Hehe. I hope to get an electric vehicle, but it’s quite expensive.

@freelancermariagrace Well the way the price of petrol is going, electric would be a good idea

Gas prices are much higher here now. It's quite worrying.

@freelancermariagrace People have been filling jerry cans with fuel so stocks have been getting a bit low. I haven't noticed any differences in the shops yet but eventually supplies of products might be affected.

@JudyEv I went grocery shopping yesterday and noticed an increase in the prices of some items, which was frustrating. How much is the current cost of fuel per liter in your area? Here it is around $1.40 per liter.

Yes, I suppose everyone is affected by the skyrocketing gas prices. Here, many people are panicking. Most of them are stockpiling rice that can last for a few months because they expect that basic necessities will become more expensive.

Thanks for the reminder. Easter feels like it is early this year. I remember Holy Week from when I was a kid.

It's a global energy crisis and it might get worse with ongoing war. Better to save energy. Here, corporates are encouraging work from home to save fuel

Yes, I agree. Same here. I heard that the workweek will now be reduced to four days instead of the usual five or six days. Because of the recent surge in gas prices, the cost of basic necessities is likely to increase, too.
