I watched Crime + Punishment in Suburbia. I am listening to Crime and Punishment. This movie is very loosely based on the book. It has Monica Keena, Ellen Barkin, Michael Ironside, Vincent Kartheiser, James DeBello, Jeffrey Wright, and Marshall R. Teague in it.
Big Warning: one rape part, and some violence. Spoiler Below.
In this movie, a guy named Vincent is obsessed with a girl named Roseanne. Vincent is a strange guy and most people stay away from him. He takes alot of pictures of Roseanne. Roseanne is going with a football player named Jimmy. Roseanne's stepfather is drunk and he gets mad at her mother for going out with her best friend to a bar. At the bar, Roseanne's mother flirts with the bartender. Later on Roseanne's mother has affair with the bartender. Her mother ends up moving out. Roseanne has to live with her stepfather who rapes her. (I wish she had told her mother about it, but she doesn't.) Instead of telling anyone, she gets a plan together with Jimmy to kill her stepfather. They do. And her mother comes to the house and finds the stepfather dead. (She touches the knife which is insane.) She is arrested for the murder. Roseanne refuses to talk to Jimmy anymore. Vincent offers to take Roseanne to the courthouse for her mother's trial. In the men's bathroom, Jimmy tries to talk to Roseanne. The bartender overhears the confession and ends up accidently shooting Jimmy. Roseanne's guilt gets to her and she finally confesses to the crime. After two years, Roseanne is free and leaves with Vincent.
I sorta liked this movie. I'm watching next Crime and Punishment (1935).

@JESSY3236 there were 2 movies of it made in 1935 - one starring Peter Lorre and the other directed by Pierre Chenal. Which will you watch?

Some of these plots get very convoluted, don't they?
