Did we really go here in 2015?

The photo shows the view from the Hohensalzburg Fortress in Salzburg, Austria. It overlooks the city and sits at an altitude of 506 metres. At 250 m (820 ft) long and 150 m (490 ft) wide, it is one of the largest medieval castles in Europe.
The fortress was refurbished from the late 19th century. We went up to the castle on the Festungsbahn funicular railway which was first opened in 1892. During World War I it held Italian prisoners of war and Nazi activists.
When I wrote about the fortress back in 2015, I was able to include a video of some of the attractions of the fortress. I’ll try to put more photos in the comments.

@LindaOHio Some of the old remedies were remarkably effective.

@JudyEv I like anything medical. I'm fascinated with what ancient people did to cure illnesses, etc.

That's a fine castle.
I would quite like to go and see it
Maybe if Rangers ever have to play in Salzburg again I might actually get to see the castle.

I think we've done all our 'big' travelling. It's just good that we did as much as we did at the time. The residents here are tripping off all over the place and I get a bit envious sometimes but then I think of airport queues etc and I lose the urge.

Thanks. I'm glad you like it. Here is another photo of it looking through the hole where a cannon sits.
