Deputies with the Onondaga County Sheriffs Department (OCSD) which is located in Baldwinsville New York answered an emergency call on Monday night when a mixed breed dog known as a goldendoofle which is a mixed breed of a poodle and a Golden Retriever was in the Seneca River that needed to be rescued.
A helicopter from the OCSD known as an Air 1 went to the area where the dog was struggling to stay afloat above the water when the helicopter sent a crew member to rescue the dog when the helicopter was close to the water.
The helicopter crew then flew the rescued dog to a baseball field where firefighters with the Baldwinsville Fire Department covered the dog with warm blankets since the dog was shivering due to the cold water in the river.
Another successful rescue of an animal who needed to be rescued by the authorities.

@Deepizzaguy We both are! I always feel so bad for animals that suffer. They are so innocent.

I am sure that the dog will be going to a local animal hospital to be taken care of quickly.

Just now
I' glad they rescued the poor dog. Our government here wouldn't spend that much money on a helicopter to rescue a dog.

I am happy that the dog was rescued
But I would like to know who load for the rescue
I think the dogs owner should be paying and a helicopter and crew wouldn't be cheap

It would be interesting to know how the dog got into the river.
That is a lot of costly resources to rescue the dog, and it shows how animal welfare is given a high priority, even from such authorities. It was good the dog was rescued, and will probably recover well from its ordeal.
