State of National Energy Emergency

Philippines

Our President has announced that our country is under energy emergency. Upon hearing this and seeing the news and post honestly I got scared. What will happen during this type of emergency? I know this is because of the conflicts in the Middke East. And I ve been thinking what measures should be done to help? A lot of offices here is implementing the 4 days work to save energy and gas consumption. Some is thinking of bringing back the work from home style to ease up high costs of gasoline and save electricity too. I am thinking about saving or restocking food ,ready to eat food just in case cooking gas prices would get high. Saving water too I guess , or using water the right way because in some places if there is no ekectricity , water supply is stopped. If ever fellow Lotters if it happened in your place ,what measures will you take?

I would try to have basic food supplies on hand, especially water. I don't know what we'd do for cooking as where we are now everything depends on electricity.

I'm sorry, this has to be not just a big concern but scary, too. Yes, you will need some ready to eat foods that do not require refrigeration or cooking. I hope you can find some, because it's possible that many others will be having the same concern. Can you buy water where you are?

@iKONICNoona Water is the first thing, we simply cannot live without water. I don't know what people in your country consider to be essentials there. Can you get some sort of protein in a can, like tuna, salmon, some type of fish, etc. or meat in a can? At least it wouldn't have to be refrigerated or cooked as they are already cooked. The way the world is right now, we all need to think about this happening, but I am sure sorry it's happening to your country. I am sure some are panic buying and that often causes shortages, too.

I’m so sorry your country is going through such a scary time. I guess if I were in that situation, I’d move in with my dad so we could combine resources and only use one vehicle between the two of us. I will not only pray for your country, but you specifically.

There is no end to this war in sight. I would stock up on food and water Ready to eat food is a very good idea Get more cooking gas if you can Use it sparingly. Let's hope the war ends soon and the State of Emergency is only for a short time
