There can be a big difference with some of the prices on these booking sites

I was booking a motel along the way for our trip to Pennsylvania, and there was like a 30 dollar difference between the price on the booking sites. However, one thing I noticed that that particular motel did not include wifi..so that is a no go. I mean I have wifi on my phone, but friend never uses it on his. I know he wants wifi in the room. Besides I like to use my Kindle there which I need wifi for. Usually, I just go with the first booking site I come to but it pays to compare.

My daughter-in-law is really good at finding the best prices on those sites. She found their tickets to fly out west as well as the fancy resort that they are staying in.

@snowy22315 I do that with accommodations, but since we never fly, I've never worried about that. Only 3 more weeks until my first airplane ride.

I would just use the window hotspot on my phone And I would use Trivago And then phone the place to see if I could get a better price Quite often phoning the hotel direct is the way to go

I haven't actually found that to be the case unfortunately, at least not here.

@Ineeddentures I don't know I think they are wise to it here. Sometimes you can't even call direct, it will go through a booking firm.

@snowy22315 Well we found booking direct suited the hotels , campsites, etc we stayed in As they didn't pay a.commision to the booking agent, and we got a discount nearly everywhere as well

Though I have unlimited internet on my phone as well, I'd appreciate a hotel with their own wifi connection as somethings, int his country, when I'm inside the building, the signal could be too slow.

Hotels and motels usually have a decent internet connection.

We try to bypass booking agents if we can. Hopefully the place and us save a bit of money that way.

Yes, I do that with airfare sites, but haven't done that too much with motel booking sites, if the price seems reasonable.

You can use your Kindle without Wi-Fi once the book is downloaded. The downloaded books are stored locally on your device, allowing you to read them offline. I do this all the time.
