Plastic Money

Plastic Money Ok it's got its advantages over paper money But it isn't easy to count It seems like it sticks together a lot Four times I had to count the wad in the picture before I got the right amount What beats me is why it doesn't fold up properly. Fold it in half and flatten it, still doesn't crease. Plastic money, do they have plastic mo ey where you stay?

They introduced plastic bills in Canadian currency in 2011, so I am probably more used to it than you are. In the beginning, they had to figure things out as we went. I remember hearing people claim that bills would melt a bit when in a man's back pocket in their wallet. Of course there were stories of people washing and drying the bills in the laundry-ooops, and they do tear too easily as far as I am concerned. You cannot bend them as the fold will remain. I can tolerate a few bills in my wallet, but my wages go into my account through direct deposit, and therefore, I spend it digitally.

I have had 10 years to get used to it And have counted wads bigger than this many times But of late it has become problematic Maybe the coating has changed on the notes, Ours don't tear, I tried and tried to tear one and it wouldn't tear, None have melted in my back pocket, But they do wash well lol In my life cash is king so I do like having a lot of money handy all the time for spontaneous purchases that don't show up on any bank statement But I do seem to spend a lot of money digitally as well I do wonder why I can't fold it in half and it will stay flat like paper notes, The image shows what I mean , so frustrating

@Ineeddentures Apparently the banks won't exchange them.

@Juliaacv So shop keepers etc are trained to watch out for that? Would a bank not take such a bill back and exchange it for you

Oh yes and I have the same complain about it. Two days ago I went to the bank and the teller in the counter was using a machine to count my money. The denomination were in 1000 and 500 and there were plastic money in it Each bundle has 100pcs of those denomination and she has to repeat counting them because the plastic ones stuck together. Had to wait longer because of that.

@Ineeddentures I heard about Churchill being replaced by a wildlife animal. Has it been done already? Coz here they already did do that with our heroes. Instead of the heroes in the money, animals now.

Indonesia ever introduced plastic money in 1993 and 1999, but because many people stapled and even ironed it, the money was easily damaged and was also easily counterfeited, so the money is no longer in circulation.

Plastic money, only if you count a debit card, but don't need to even count bills for that. Looks like interesting money

I never heard of plastic money. Is that something new in Scotland? I don’t recall using it when we were there.

2016 it came into circulation in the UK I never noticed how awkward it is until recently, But I can't put £100 ( 5 x £20) folded up flat as a pancake in my wallet because it just won't I tried to iron it once, it stuck to the bloody Iron and was ruined

Sometimes when I get money that’s newly printed, bills can be stuck together and if you’re not careful when you’re paying someone you might give them more than you should.

Give me paper money anyway day This plastic stuff is so annoying Even bank teller's can't count it properly Mind you it's easier to wash to get rid of germs And it won't burn as I tried to burn a £20 and failed
