I have been meaning to finish this book of mine.
Every time you buy a ticket, stream a show, or purchase a celebrity-endorsed product, you are making someone else rich, and you don't even realize it.
This book is a bold exposé of the hidden economy built on your admiration and your money. Drawing on economics, consumer psychology, and real-world case studies, including the lessons of the COVID-19 pandemic, the ABS-CBN collapse, and the brutal financial realities of concert culture, this book asks the questions the entertainment industry hopes you never will: What do you actually get in return? And what would your life look like without them?
Because the most expensive thing in your life may not be your rent or your bills, it may be the celebrities you were never asked to pay for, but always do.
Their Stardom at Your Expense is essential reading for anyone who has ever bought a ticket, watched a commercial, or wondered why fame costs so much, and why you are always the one footing the bill.
I hope to finish this already by the end of this week.
