Two Park Ridge Police Officers responded to an emergency call on Saturday evening March 28 in the Fox Trail Memory Care Living Facility when a woman passed out when she choked and passed out inside of the facility.
Police officers Todd Stowe arrived first and he saw staff members attempted to use the Heimlich maneuver to revive the woman but when that failed. Officer Stowe moved the choking victim to the floor when he attempted to revive her with advanced first aid methods when his partner Sergeant Michael B assisted his partner to revive the choking victim by using the LifeVac device in an attempt to revive her.
The device did work on the choking victim who regained signs of life, The woman was taken by an ambulance to The Valley Hospital in New Jersey to be treated for her condition.
Thank goodness the police officers had the medical equipment to save the life of the choking victim.

The device that saved the woman was needed since the Heimlich maneuver was not able to revive the choking victim.

I am in agreement with you that seeing an elderly woman choking is a scary event.

It was good that they had that LifeVac on hand in their patrol car to use. It did the trick here, but only because the officers knew how to use it too. The choking victim was lucky to have been saved
