Ghost Employee: What?!?

In my country, one of the issues is that I do not want to work in any government agencies dealing with 'ghost employees.' I used to work in a local government agency in my city. I have seen these individuals who do not have the guilt to work on a regular basis in their respective offices, despite being hired under the umbrella of the government agencies. They are in full attendance with no shows. 'Nepotism' is another story. What is your stand about this matter?

What is your stand about this matter? I have no issues if these people are working from home. Other than that I do not think I have ever encountered the situation before

I mean they are supposed to be working in the office, but never enter the premises. They were been paid without knowing by the local government.

@Ineeddentures You said it right. I really do have low opinion about these people.

What do you mean for "ghost employees"? Those who get paid and they are never sitting at their desk? We have some of them in Italy.

I am referring to those government officials who do not go to work, but they are full in attendance. It means they are not working, but still being paid. It is a matter of cheating the local people to give service and the local government.

@Shavkat - I thought that, the same we have here in Italy, they are in public places.

I've never heard of "ghost employees". If you mean somebody who is allowed to miss work because of physical disabilities/sickness, then I was one of those. We always thought I was having bad allergic reactions so had to miss work but, it turned out that I have hyperthyroidism and my eyes swelled shut so I couldn't see. I was allowed to get full pay when that happened, whether I was physically at work or not. The government paid my wages when I missed work.

@Shavkat Oh, I see... They sound like some of our elected officials in government here. They're supposed to work for the people but instead take elaborate vacations all the time using taxpayer money.

@DaddyEvil They are just like a leech who cannot feel the guilt.

@Shavkat Thankfully, if we find out what they're doing, it's not too difficult to get them replaced.
