I hear a lot of people from all over the country griping about the USPS. I guess I am lucky in that I have a good service here and can't recall a time when I had an issue. I read an article a few days ago that was about the service, and I thought I would share it here: The USPS handles over 400 million pieces of mail each day. This includes 162 million First-Class items. It is legally required to deliver to ever U.S. address, no matter how remote it might be. This also includes 153 million addresses, even in hard-to-reach areas. They use curbside mailboxes, local post offices, virtual mailbox services such as Stable and partner with community centers. It delivers worldwide to more than 180 countries. This goes through the Global Express Guaranteed and processes approximately 44% of the world's mail. To manage all of this USPS uses advanced automation tools and operates over 34,000 retail locations.
