An Explosion of Epic Proportions

Well, it’s not really an explosion of epic proportions, but it feels like this when it happens. What am I talking about this time? Have you ever wanted a soda or other drink that happens to be in a can, and it’s room temperature? Maybe you’re in a hurry, and don’t want to wait for it to be cold. Instead of putting it in a glass of ice you put in the freezer to get cold quickly. And most of the time you go back and get it when you think it’s cooler.
Every once in a while though, for one reason or another, you forget to go back for it. Sometimes you go to bed, forgetting all about it. And then quite awhile later, most times the next day, you open the freezer, and you find the results of an explosion. Liquid has erupted from the can and covers everything. The remnants of the can have changed locations once it emptied, and you very carefully remove it so as to not cut yourself with the jagged edges. You stare at the mess, aggravated that you created a mess you now have to clean up.
How many times has it happened to you, or has it?

I have had to deal with a can of soda that has blown up on rare occasions.

i think never. i put all my soda in fridge, not freezer and if they smell weird, i throw it away but, i drink them in 3-4 days most. i'm sorry for this explosion.

Yikes! That hasn't happened to me specifically, but I'm sure I've done similar things--I just forget them right now...

That's happened to me but not recently. Exploding soda does cause a mess

My older son put a can in the freezer once years ago when he was in college. It blew up on him, and he had to clean up the mess...and it was orange soda. He said it took forever to clean it up.

After that, if he put a can in the freezer, he put it in a ziplock bag for ''just in case'' he forgot about it. And yes, he did forget once and a can blew up again--and it was actually contained in the bag! I was surprised it didn't blow up.

Nope, I do not do that. I have heard of people leaving multi packs of soda, or water in their vehicle in the winter Then they have epic regrets.
