I Hate Being Dependent on Others

Today my daughter has her monthly meds check appointment. I set up transportation several weeks ago. If it is Lyft I usually get a text up to a day before the ride is needed or if it is a private owned transport company the driver will call a bit ahead of time to tell us when the driver will be here. Today we have gotten nothing.
The appointment is at 1:40p. 12:40p. came and went and I got to wondering so I called the transportation place to check. The representative said it would be with Lyft today and they will be there for pick up at 12:47p. It was 12:46p. We hadn't gotten a text or anything. I am glad I just happened to call. I sent her out and she hasn't come back in so I guess we caught it just in time.
I hate depending on others for important things like this.

And that's one reason, even with my limitations, I still drive. Even if I have to tell Pretty I'm not seeing well, we will get to appointments without wondering who or when they'll pick us up or bring us home again. (Pretty helps me by telling me we're getting close to our turns so I slow down and creep down streets or she tells me there are cars coming from the passenger side of the car.)
It scares me to drive when my vision is blurry but I'd rather do that than depend on someone else to drive me somewhere.

That's marvelous. None of us drive and know no one that could drive us. So we are dependent. One reason I don't make many appointments.

@celticeagle I wonder if you could talk to one of your neighbors who has a car and pay them to take you to appointments?

Maybe she needs to get a driver's licence then, or perhaps you just need to work directly with ride shres and schedlue your rides yourself. My insurance company offers free transportation options, but I never used it for this same reason.

My daughter has issues where she can't drive. We do schedule our rides ourselves. The insurance company i had allowed a certain amount monthly I could use for either OTC or rides. This one I have now doesn't.

During my time living alone i have discovered that I hate to depend on anyone so always pray each day for the Lord to watch over me and thank Him that i have my heatlth,

You are lucky. When i get this other cataract removed I doubt i will have many other real important appointments. It's nice that my doctor comes to see me now.
