George Washington's face wasn't the only one used on the dollar bill. The actual designer of the first dollar bill was Secretary of the Treasury, Salmon P. Chase. The first design was done in 1862, and he put his own face on it. Washington's portrait wasn't used until 1869. Chase still use his own face on the $10,000 bill however. Remember when we had all those bills?
