So two of my Mom's cousins are sharing an 80th Birthday party today.
Ken was 80 in September and Margaret will be 80 in July ....so they are in-between the two Birthdays and they thought it would be nice to share the day and get the family together .
We are going to a nice hotel about an hour's drive away from where we live
They have said no presents but you can't turn up with nothing and we want to celebrate. So, we have bought them a Birthday rose bush for their garden. Hopefully, they will enjoy this for years to come.
What are you doing today ?

@LindaOHio they loved the rose. They recently moved and have only got a small garden now and this rose will fit in a pot.

@traceyjayne I repainted the bathroom cabinet. Re-jigged my planned trip to Normandy. Prepared what is needed for breaded chicken, sweet potato fries and romesco sauce. I’ll cook it later.

The rose bush is an excellent idea. I hate going without a present but I try to think of something that doesn't sort of seem like a traditional present - like a rose bush!

@JudyEv it was tricky to know what to get ...at 80 they don't need much and they have recently moved to a much smaller property so not much room for extra things anyway. The rose was called Special Birthday ...so it seemed to fit the occasion.

@Traceyjayne That does sound especially appropriate.
