Today puja is offered to Lord Mahadeva or Shiva. Hindus all over the world create a fast and offer dhatura flower, kolke flower and akondo garland on the shiva linga. Fruits are also offered. The puja is also offered for getting blessings for children. Lord Shiva is part of the trident of Hindus.
