They are recommending more protein especially those who are trying to lose weight, and I suspect aging populations too, to retain muscle strength. Since I fit into those categories I am eating more protein. It is a new habit. I had a small amount of cottage cheese with apple butter this morning. It was tasty and healthy. Are you on the more protein kick as well?

That is a lot. You know what is a satisfying snack if you can find it? Quite a bit of protein too..Chocolate hummus.

@snowy22315 That doesn’t sound good to me, but I’m always willing to try new things.
I pretty much reached for a glass of reduced fat 2% filtered Fairlife milk and went about my day.

@AmbiePam It's really good..paired with something like apple slices. I love dessert hummus.

If you don't eat red meat, make sure to keep track of your iron. I had to use a supplement, although I did eat some red meat, not sure how it got low.

@snowy22315 "heme-iron" is found also in chicken and seafood, not only red meat. There is a lot of non-heme iron in lentils, beans and nuts.

It's funny that I just mentioned on Ambers post that I was increasing my protein
My doctor advised me to increase my protein so I'm trying hard. I bought some protein waffles and pancakes just to have something different for breakfast. But, I have increased my portion of meat when I have dinner so that I'm adding more "real" protein to my day rather than relying on protein added to foods.

Sounds good. It isn't too hard, just something you have to think about.
