Have You Ever Gone To A Nutritionist?

While chatting here today I noticed quite a few posts and references to healthy eating and increasing protein. My daughter and I go to the same doctor and some of her lab work came back high and some too low so she needs to adjust her "diet". Her company changed insurance companies at the beginning of the year and one feature of the new insurance is a "free" nutritionist. She had her first meeting (online) last week and it was mostly a get-to-know you introduction and her first real visit will be today after work. Since we both like most of the same foods I'm curious to see what advice the nutritionist gives her and if I can piggyback on the recommendations. Should be interesting. Have you ever gone to a nutritionist?

That’s great, Marilyn! I always wanted to have an appointment with one to see if they thought I should do an anti inflammatory diet or go pescatarian (if I could afford it). Let us know if she finds out any helpful information.

Having access to a free one is great. I do all that myself. I love to do research and there is so much you can get out of the internet.

Never in my entire life. My mom was a professional nutritionist but she practiced only for a short time and then got married with my dad and became an entrepreneur instead. But when I was a kid, I remember how she'd prepare food for us. That was very rare though as she became busy but she made sure she left instructions to the maid what to prepare for us.

Years ago when I was experiencing higher than usual numbers for my sugar, my doctor booked me to see an internist. I did go to see her and as a result of that appointment I was booked for a group information session on nutritional menus. I was not able to attend that, and wish that I had requested a private appointment with a nutritionist.

I never have. It would be great to have it covered by insurance

I had my get to know consult a couple of weeks ago. I had my first appointment today. It was helpful. Since I already eat healthy, there wasn't any suggestions in that area, so right now, I'm focusing on exercise.

I didn't go to one, but a clinical study I was in had one we met with periodically. She had some good suggestions, but I stopped following them at some point.

I tried once. It's also a part of the offer for our health card. But it was only online consultation

Have you ever gone to a nutritionist? No Marilyn This is not a thong I have ever done before I think my nutrition has always been good given the variety of stuff I eat and drink. If a doctor here gives someone a referral to a nutritionist it's free I still wouldn't go lol Can I ask what lab work is?
