The song "I'll Be Seeing You" was published in 1938, and since it was a song about nostalgia, it also became a WWII song. The song was in the Broadway musical "Right This Way" and the title of a movie that came out in 1944.
With time, the song became a hugely popular World War II-era song about love and distance. It was a number one hit for Bing Crosby in 1944. As you can see, there were things happening in the music field before rock and roll came.

I remember my mother had a crush on Liberace and she had the album that this song was on.
