Got a Nice Surprise

Well, I finished my taxes and got them sent out on Monday. I wish I had finished them sooner, because I got a nice surprise - we're actually getting a refund this year! Very much instrumental in this was the Energy Tax Credit we got for replacing our furnace this past year. The $600 for that swung us from having to pay a few hundred to actually receiving a few hundred!
We will be getting a refund from the state, too, although a smaller one ($95). I won't really be able to enjoy it until the money hits our bank account where it can do some good, but I'm still pretty happy.

Yes! I don't know what it will be like next year if I don't get a job, though, because there won't be any payroll taxes held out.
