Do you ever just lose interest in things?

It seems like whenever I start attending something, or doing most anything to be honest, I just lose interest after awhile. This can be a real problem. I think in terms of a group I upset people with my behavior sometimes..but I just can't see the point of going to things I am no longer very interested in.
However, this pattern is even noticeable with alot of projects I start at home. I lose my enthusiasm and they don't get done, or not as well as I envision Do you ever just lose interest in things?

Yes. When I was younger I was like that. Always starting something and never got to finish them coz I simply lost interest. I remember my brother telling me spending too much money on something but never finished a single project.
But that has changed.

@snowy22315 Maybe you're not that interested in those things.

Yes, definitely. Sometimes I even find myself wondering why I’m like that. It’s like I’m only interested at the beginning, then after a while the feeling just fades. Even with things I genuinely enjoy doing, there comes a point when I no longer feel like continuing them.

I am not sure. It may be a symptom of depression, or maybe we just realize we aren't really benefitting from it, don't fit in .whatever..could be a few things Usually when I quit something or go less there is more than one reason. I went to this Bunco (dice game) group for about a year..but I found the game boring, I didn't like driving back from there in the dark, and almost everyone who played lived in a different development and knew each other from that..not for me

@snowy22315 Yeah, that actually makes sense. It’s probably not just one reason most of the time, more like a mix of things that slowly makes you lose interest.

Sometimes things seem just like what you are looking for, but over time it is clear they are not.

Oh yes. I start things with so much excitement, and then somewhere along the way, the interest just disappears. It’s like my motivation goes on holiday without telling me. I also have a few unfinished projects at home that are quietly waiting for my “comeback.”

Oh don't get me started on the "home " stuff. That could be a whole category unto itself

I had a friend, I don't know if she likes me anymore because I lost interest in her group. It is just she got obsessed with this one topic, and kept talking about it for like two months straight. Been there, done that, have the T shirt.

@snowy22315 Oh my, when some people get obsessed by something and they talk about the same thing all the time is so annoying and boring.

Sometimes, I lose interest in life. It feels stagnant and mundane.

You are pretty young to feel that way...

I'm about the same. I'd like to volunteer somewhere but I don't want to do it without committing to stick to it for a while and I'm not sure I would want to do that.

When I was younger I started a few hobbies and didn’t continue with them, I guess I was just finding out what I liked or was good at.
Nowadays it tends to be things on tv or Netflix ….i start watching them then lose interest in the storyline etc ….

All the time before I had my medication adjusted. It's a sign of depression in my case.
