I realised that I had a pack of Salted Caramel and chocolate chip Hot Cross buns in the cupboard. I don’t like the usual hot cross buns but some of the flavoured ones are quite nice. Anyway, I thought I would make a pudding for Myself and Mom for after tea this evening. The Mister doesn’t do puddings so he will have ice cream. I simply sliced the buns and buttered them. Arranged in a dish with a few sultanas. Covered with a mixture of beaten egg, milk and cream and topped with brown sugar, I will add more of the liquid before taking it to Moms later …. It will only take a few minutes in the air fryer do it will cook whilst we are having tea. Oh, yes, and my magic ingredient …..this will divide you I think …..I added whisky to the pudding too. Do you think it sounds delicious ?

It sounds too sweet for me, while simultaneously sounding absolutely delicious.

@traceyjayne Oh yes, an excellent pudding for a cold wet April evening. I hated bread and butter pudding as a child, but I think that may be because the variety served up in school was little more than milky slop. Your addition of whiskey is ingenious.

It works well with brioche too. It’s the first time I’ve done it with these buns so I’m hoping it’s going to be tasty……I do have a tendency to add a tad more whisky than is absolutely necessary ….but, hey ho ! …..that’s probably why my puddings are so popular and often requested.

That does indeed sound wonderfully delicious. Vince had so many bread and butter puddings as a child that he can't face them now. I don't make them for myself.

@JudyEv it's a shame ...why don't you make them for yourself ?

@Traceyjayne I'm just lazy but it's a bit pointless making it just for me. I'd be better off making something we could both eat.

@JudyEv …..I’m on my own during the week but I still eat things I like ….i don’t mind cooking just for me ….i guess it’s different for you as you would have to cook two different meals then.
