Yahoo! It’s time for the last unintentional Frank Sinatra reference in the dual looks back to songs from 60 and 70 years ago. I know you think I’m nuts…and you’re right! I shall explain as we sing along with this classic 1966 tune. Under My Thumb - The Rolling Stones You see, back in the early 80s, Joe Piscopo was on Saturday Night Live, and he is well known for an absolutely perfect impersonation of Frank Sinatra. So much so that he released a single as Sinatra: “I Love Rock and Roll (Medley).” It was Sinatra (who was notorious for loathing rock and roll) doing a medley of songs. One of them was “Under My Thumb,” which was probably the best thing in the song. Not only did Piscopo work in the title of Sinatra’s 1981 album She Shot Me Down in the song, he finished it with (remember, read this as if Sinatra was singing it), “The change has come: THUMB.” Oh, yeah, the original song isn’t half bad. Here’s something that I was surprised to see: for the ubiquitousness of this song on FM rock, it was never a single. This is one of the Stones’ best-known songs, but it was never a single! That’s the power of the old album-rock stations…and a legendary band’s great discography, where even the album cuts are memorable. Under My Thumb Written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards Recorded by the Rolling Stones From Aftermath, 1966 The girl who once pushed me around (see? Keith Richards was young once! ):

I remember Joe Piscopo’s skit from SNL. Good info which I didn’t know. Also like Under My Thumb. We all were young once!

Of course I remember this song. But I never was a fan of the Rolling Stones. I came to appreciate Sinatra later in life.

I think that’s true of a lot of us. I like Como a lot more now than I did in the 60s and 70s.
