Prom King

We didn’t have prom at my school (we had a banquet), but I’m sure a heck of a lot of you did. I bring this up because of who was voted Prom King at Pauls Valley High School in Oklahoma this past weekend. Kirk Moore, the older, portly (I use that word to show heroes comes in all shapes and sizes) principal who was shot in the leg taking down a potential school shooter recently.
I love that he’s been honored like that.

The high school I attended did not have prom king and queen when I was there. I did go to the prom. I know that in many schools, prom king and queens are a big deal.

I loved all the movies about proms in school gyms. Our high school rented out a ballroom in a hotel, I hated the prom and wished I had never gone,

No, and I regret I didn't go to prom for two reasons. It would have been memorable. Although I was asked to go, I wasn't crazy about who asked me, my first real "boyfriend" Although it didn't last long and didn't want to go with him. The night of the prom though, I ended up breaking my wrist, which really caused a hardship in my life. I would have been much better off going to the prom. A break up could have come later.

Nope. I have no idea who was Prom King or Queen. I wasn't part of the jock/cheerleader set so didn't care what they did.

That was nice of the student body to honor him that way. No, I wasn't with the "in crowd" and I only went to school half days my senior year. I didn't hang out with anybody in high school because I was too busy working and raising myself.
