The experience of staying in house boat in Alleppey in Kerala was awesome

April 20, 2026 9:03pm CST
In Alleppey in Kerala we stayed in house boat. There was backwater in Alleppey, meaning generally the flow of river happens towards sea. But there the river had a flow in the back direction. We stayed in the boat there was washroom and dining in the house boat itself seeing the sky during morning afternoon and night was awesome.

Sathvik is having too much fun in that photo. Did you offer to throw him in the river? Boats, of whatever type, were always fun to ride. I'm glad you all enjoyed yourselves.

thanks DE Sathvik knows swimming. In fact these days he swims faster than me in freestyle. But I am better in backstroke. At that time he was not expert swimmer but a beginner. But you are right i will tell this to him so that he will get further irritated

@sathviksouvik I'm glad you both know how to swim. I'd worry about you always going to water on vacation if you didn't know how. I hope all of your family can swim well.

We have done it a couple of times as Kerela is at a good easy drivable distance. It's actually fun. We love the fresh hot meal that they serve. We book the whole boat for the whole day.

@sathviksouvik Agree. And the floating market on boats from where they buy fresh veggies, fish etc to prepare fresh meals for us. That food was so yum!
