Write Name on a Pocket Book

Recently, I decided to catch up reading novels and collecting them. I have this habit that I write my name and date when I start to read it. I have been doing this since I was in primary school. It sounds weird to do it, but that is me. Some readers tend to also write the end date of reading their novels and even write the names of friends who will read them. At present, I am reading Bleachers by John Grisham. Are you one of us? Are you reading a novel at this point in time? Image Credit: live-production.wcms.abc-cdn.net.au

I used to do that but not on the book. I would keep a record in my diary with goals for reading and start and finish dates of the books. Now, I am not a voracious reader like early days. I just read at my pace. I have picked up " The book thief" in February and have read only a few pages so far.

I can feel you with that. I also set dates for when to finish the novel. During my younger years, I could finish at least 3 novels in a week. It was when I was in high school.

@JudyEv Yes, it is. Right now, I am traveling and I forgot to pick the book. It was right next to my phone so that I don't forget. But I did. I could have finished some.good portion in these few days. We are here for some wedding and the whole afternoon We stay indoors in the hotel room because of heat. Was good time to read it.

I cannot push myself to read online at present. I do the reading before sleeping and like flipping the pages.

I read all the time but only wrote my name in books I bought. Of course, I had to stop doing that when I started reading e-books on my phone or Kindle. Currently I'm reading The Time Travel Megapack 26 Modern and Classic Science Fiction Stories. Do you read e-books? Did I already give you a link to the site I use?

I am old school, so I still prefer to read softcover novels as compared to e-books. It is still a dream to have a mini-library with novels only. Regardless, you can share the link, and I will use it if there is nothing to do outdoors.

@Shavkat If we could manage it, I'd send you my library. We don't have room for books in this house. There are plastic totes full of books out in our garage. Here is the link: You can sign into their site and download 5 ebooks within 24 hours. Or, you can give them some money and download 10 ebooks within 24 hours. I gave them $10 several years ago and can still download 10 ebooks within 24 hours.

I have a couple of novels started. It will be a while before I finish as I'm always writing.

I feel you with this matter. I started to read a novel, and it will be done before sleeping.

That isn't weird. I write dates when I bought the books then when I read it. Highlight lines that caught me. I haven't read novel for so many years. The last I have read was Me Before You by Jojo Moyes

You are also like my friend. She usually highlighted good quotes when reading novels. As for me, I tend to find new words to increase my vocabulary.

@luisadannointed Some people also asked others to write the dates when it was borrowed and the dates when it was returned. I think it is also a good idea.

I don't do this but it is a good idea. Vince is currently reading a John Grisham novel. He is certainly a very prolific writer.

I like the writing style of John Grisham and it would be great to collect all his novels.
