Friend had noticed awhile back that our other friend the one who was in the recent accident was having memory problems, although he did not mention it to me. He said that since the accident these have noticeably increased. He took her to the doctor, but now needs to take her to a neurologist and some sort of orthopedic specialist. I said maybe the memory problems are just a result of the accident, and will improve. He doesn't think so since he had noticed them before. I told him the sooner she can get into treatment the better. If it is a form of dementia they have some wonderful drugs for that now, that can really extend lifespan and keep memory loss at bay. They are actually on the cutting edge of having a cure for this. New drugs are in investigative trials.

The earlier dementia is diagnosed, the sealer is the cure. A distant relative was diagnosed early on with that and was given medication. His family was told that he has to eat healthy and to get enough sleep. After a few weeks, he was back to his old self again.

So does he think it played into her having an accident somehow? People do not like to admit it when their memory is getting week.

Hopefully, if your friend has a form of dementia, it was one of those that respond to treatment.

Oh, I hope they can help him! I would be absolutely terrified if that happened to me or my husband.
