When is an offer, not an offer ....when there are no items in store !

As you know I use a lot of shopping apps, some give money off and some times have free items.
Today I was up early as I had several free items to collect ....and planned on getting some for my friend as she is working and wouldn't have time to go.
When I got to the store ...two bus rides away ....there were no items on my list to be found.
I even asked a couple of members of staff , they sometimes locate items in different parts of the store...
No luck today !
So that was a waste of time and of an early morning !

Did you ask for rain checks for those items? Walmart here used to give rain checks if they were out of specials when the afternoon shoppers reached the store.

@Traceyjayne Did you ask her to go to the back and see if somebody just missed bringing it out? That's what happens here. If the app says they have it, then some customers won't believe it isn't in the store. That used to drive me nuts when I worked at Walmart until an assistant manager at the store told me to just go to the back, get a drink of water, visit with somebody for a few minutes then go back to the customer and say I couldn't find it.

They were items on my apps , so the stores may not stock them.
one item i got last week but there was no space for it today .
one item said on the app that particular store had it but the lady working there said no they didnt stock it.

@traceyjayne I was up and out early to Lidl and Asda, painted the bathroom walls, mowed the lawn and had this evening’s meal all prepped by the time my lady folk returned home from their Zumba class.

You were a busy bee.
I plan to go to Lidl this week and Mom has just asked for a few things from Aldi....that may have to be at the weekend though as I have the lemon pop from there and I stock up with 10 bottles when I go so I need to have The Mister there with the car.
Pleased you have got the painting done ....blue is a lovely colour.
What have you prepared for your tea ?

That's a bit rough. Did they offer you anything in place of the items that weren't available?

@JudyEv ....no there wouldn't have been any point as the offers were on my shopping apps and you only have so long to claim. It has to be what they are offering so a substitute would not have worked and if I waited til the product came back in stock it probably would be too late to claim for it on the app anyway !
Just one of those things .....some days you win , .....some days you don't !

I'm sorry they said they didn't have any of your items. Did you get a rain check?

@LindaOHio …no point asking for rain check as by the time the product was back in stock, if at all, my offer on the app would have ended .
