Are you going away on holiday this year ? If you are will you be staying in your own country or flying off abroad ? I am curious as to where you will be going and where you will be staying ...hotel, cottage, caravan, etc. How do you choose your holiday destination ? Do you go to the same place / country every year ? Do you have action holidays or lying around the pool holidays ? For me, I shall be spending time at the caravan in Weston Super Mare in Somerset. We had a week in Amsterdam in January for my 60th Birthday. The Mister works all through the Summer and has his holidays in December and January. Tell me about your holiday plans ....

My family and I were supposed to go on a cruise to Canada this past September, but our flights got canceled. My sister was devastated because we were going to go to Prince Edward Island and see where Anne of Green Gables was filmed. Luckily, we will get to after all this October. Our cruise is an 8 day event with three stops in Canada. My sister can’t wait to see Prince Edward Island as it has been a dream of hers. I get to room with my 14 year old niece which will be fun too. I’m looking forward to it!

I've gone to Mexico once to bring a friend back to the US when I was 18 but haven't left the US since then. When Pretty and I went on vacations, we staying in the US. I don't like heights so always drove to vacation destinations. We haven't gone on vacations in several years. I'm always worried about getting somewhere and my eyes swelling up and not being able to get back home again. They can stay swollen closed for a week or more at a time.

@Traceyjayne Happy Heart Day is the anniversary of our daughter’s very successful open heart surgery at 11 weeks old. She was born with a very mangled associated with Down Syndrome. So on 6th June we celebrate and give thanks. My wife always bakes a heart shaped cake. It’s amazing what can now be done - had she been born 20 years earlier we would have been told to just take her home and enjoy her while we could because she would not have lasted long.

@xFiacre oh what a lovely idea x How old is your daughter now ? The medical world is amazing isn’t it ! I used to work supporting hearing impaired children in an Infant school , and when I saw cochlear implant operation being performed and witnessed first hand how it changed that child’s life …..I was truly blown away.

As we're both retired, we don't really have holidays although a lot of couples in the village go off on 'holidays', mostly cruises or in their caravans.
