So, on my way home this afternoon I popped into the Doctors with the letter the audiologist had given to Mom about having the wax removed from her ears before she can go ahead with the hearing test.
We have an appointment tomorrow morning at 10.20
This is to see the nurse…..if she decides that she can do it, then we need to make another appointment to go and have it done ….
Isn’t the whole thing sooooo long winded !
We already know she needs it doing , but they won’t let us go ahead and make the appointment for the removal of the wax.
So now we are taking up two appointments and have to travel to towns on two different occasions !
Oh the joys !

I just use a Q-Tip to clean out my ears after every shower. Sometimes, if I don't feel like I get everything out, I ask Pretty to check my ears. She uses a little flashlight and tool to reach in and drag out any wax she still sees in there.
You all go about things the hard way.

It’s not recommended to use Q Tips ….they can do more harm than good !
Be careful

@Traceyjayne Yes, I know. I just spin them in the outer part of my ears to collect the wax and then ask Pretty to check further inside my ear canal.

People keep saying that they can’t get Dr / Nurse appointments …..then we have a professional who knows what needs doing and send a request yet we have to have an appointment to agree it needs doing ….then another to do the removal …. Two appointments used instead of one !
Crazy !

If they do it this way (two appointments) doesn't that mean they can charge the NHS twice? We have Medicare here but I think sometimes the doctors play the system a bit.

@Traceyjayne I agree. It's not an economical use of their time. Well, it might be good business for them if they get paid twice for doing very little.

@JudyEv …maybe that’s the case , I don’t know. It just seems a waste of an appointment to me. An appointment someone else needs ….

That's such a waste of time to make two appointments! I would be miffed.
